This download area offers free firmware upgrades for selected units. These upgrades are specifically for the specific Kenwood units and software versions listed.

 
Warning:
This software should only be uploaded to the unit for which it is intended. If this software is uploaded to a GPS unit other than the product it is designed for, it will render the unit inoperative.

If the software upload fails, and subsequent upload attempts prove unsuccessful, the unit may need to be returned to Kenwood for service.

Procedure

 
 
• Download the update file.
• Un-ZIP the file you have just downloaded..
• Copy the extracted file to an enmpty USB stick.
• Connect the USB stick to the KENWOOD unit.
• Put the KENWOOD unit in 'STANDBY'
• Select 'Menu'
• Select "Setup'.
• Select 'Software' (Here you'll find information regarding the software versions) .
• Select 'Update' to start the update.
• When the "Update Completed" please remove the USB stick, the ubit will reboot automaticly.
• Please check the firmeware status after the update. ((Menu - Setup - Software ))
If the Verion 12 is shown in the disply the update has been succesfull..
   
• Audio files may remain on the USB sitck.
• The updatefile should be in the ROOT of the USB stick.
• If the name of the update file is changed, the update wont work anymore.
• The update can only be done bu USB stick.
• Park the vehicle in a safe location before performing the update. Keep the engine running to prevent battery drain.
• Do NOT Turn off the engine or Navigation / Multimedia receiver power while updating. If the update can not be performed correctly the Navigation / Multimedia receiver may become unusable.
