What is the advantage/disadvantage of Ethernet connection?
When you play the content stored in the PC through a cable connection, you can get stable communication quality. Also costs itself are lower than in wireless LAN case where you may need to buy a Wireless Ethernet Bridge.
On the other hand, the Ethernet connection may limit the location possibilities.

What is the advantage/disadvantage of wireless connection?
When you play content stored in the PC, you have the flexibility of placing the system.
On the other hand there is a restrictiction to transferred content in case of a wireless LAN, and the communication quality could be more unstable than in case of a wired LAN.

But the available servers are limited by the wireless format like 802.11a/b/g and ESS-ID of the connected access point / network adapter from Ethernet to Wireless.

What can be the maximum distance between my VRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080) and the server?
The maximum communicatable distance between VRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080) and the server depends on the used network components/ environment and their transferred bitrate.
Theoretically the maximum communicatable distance on each wireless format is as follows:
802.11a* : about 12m ~ 100m
802.11b : about 30m ~ 100m
802.11g : about 30m ~ 100m
*802.11a wireless network is prohibited to use outdoor.
Above distances are however theoretic. In pratical use, the distances are strongly influenced by outside factors and the environment in which the wireless units are used.

I have an 802.11g network. Is it compatible with my VRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080)?
You can connect to 802.11g wireless network if the network adaptor from Ethernet to Wireless LAN (like an access point and router) is connected with the Ethernet port of VRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080) .
Besides that you can connect various wireless networks like 802.11a/b/g by using a corresponding network adaptor from Ethernet to each Wireless LAN format.

Can I connect myVRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080) to a Wireless 54G Router or 54G Access Point?
You can connect to 802.11g wireless network if the network adaptor from Ethernet to Wireless LAN (like an access point and router) is connected with the Ethernet port of VRS-N8100 (or DVF-N7080)
Besides that you can connect various wireless networks like 802.11a/b/g by using a network adaptor from Ethernet to each Wireless LAN format.

After installing the KENWOOD PC SERVER software from CD-ROM, a pop-up message screen is coming up to update the JAVA2 runtime software.
May I update it according to the pop-up message?

Yes. We confirm the correct operation of the bundled JAVA2 runtime version with the product.
