This download area offers free firmware upgrades for selected units. These upgrades are specifically for the specific Kenwood units and software versions listed.

Warning:
This software should only be uploaded to the unit for which it is intended. If this software is uploaded to a GPS unit other than the product it is designed for, it will render the unit inoperative.

If the software upload fails, and subsequent upload attempts prove unsuccessful, the unit may need to be returned to Kenwood for service.

Kenwood grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the upgrade software ("Software") in binary executable form in the normal operation of the applicable Kenwood products. Title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the Software remain in Kenwood. This license is personal to you and you may make copies of the software only for your personal use. You agree that this license agreement does not need to be signed for it to take effect.

The software is provided on an "as is" basis without warranty of any kind -- either expressed or implied -- including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Kenwood does not warrant the performance of the software or that the software will meet your requirements or operate error free.

Procedure

•	Create a 'garmin' folder on an SD data card (must be at least 30mb space available on the card).
•	Download the appropriate self-extracting archive file onto your hard drive.
•	Run the downloaded executable file.
•	Click on Browse and select the SD card reader in the list, then select the 'garmin' folder.
•	Click Unzip to save the files onto the 'garmin' directory on the SD card.
•	Wait for the message that the update was unzipped successfully and close the updater.
•	Safely remove SD card from PC.
•	Insert SD card into Kenwood Navigation System. If there is already a card there, temporarily remove it.
•	The update will begin. Do not power off unit while the update is in progress. When finished you can verify the update by checking the version number in Settings->System->About.
•	Remove SD card.
